Down The Rabbit Hole We Went

A few days ago we were on Brunswick St before I started work looking for a quick bite for lunch. The delicatessen I love was packed and there were no tables free. We were pretty much giving up hope, plus I was in a cranky situation because it was raining. So we started walking to the car.... THEN we passed Madame Sou Sou's and H said "how about we eat there?" Then he said "why don't we eat HERE" and down the rabbit hole we went.... well.... through a rustic French door.... Le Cellier is Madame Sou Sou's answer to Cafe Vue. We will be back, multiple times. It was perfection. The menu is small, tiny even, but caters for vegetarian and meatatarian folk. The coffee is perfect and after 4pm it turns into a sweet little wine bar that you enter via Madame Sou Sou's. We had these gorgeous beef baguettes called 'Mitrailleuse' with french fries and house made Bearnaise sauce. GORGEOUS. I could have easily smashed another one. HA! I couldn't have, I was pretty full. My eyes are bigger than my brain and stomach. We also had a roast beetroot salad. YUM!! I LOVE  beetroot. Stupid me didn't have my camera so I had to use my iphone, work it! Work it!

Don't forget to enter the competition below to win the ammmmmazing book Frugavore!!!

Le Cellier is only open Monday - Friday 1100 - 1600. I will be returning. I will be dragging my girlfriends there. H has already said it's one of the best finds we've made in ages. Wooo!! Find Le Cellier at 231 Brunswick St. Be warned!!! Blink and you could miss it!!
