Mascara Angst

I need mascara help peeps
I've been using Dior Diorshow for a year now and I'm just not happy with it.
I don't like waterproof mascaras so use the normal formula, but it budges as soon as I cry/sweat/it's hot etc.
Plus it stings when it runs
So I've switched back to Clinique Lash Power Mascara.
The good thing about the Clinique one is it comes off in little clumps with warm water the BAD thing is it's so thin and doesn't give me fat lashes or even long lashes unless I put on about 48329038120931280 swipes
Sigh

So here's what I want:
Fat/thick lashes
Long lashes
Non waterproof formula
BUT a formula that comes off in clumps with water

I used to swear by Model Co but I'd like to know if there is anything else out there.

Help!!!!!

  1. What you want is a tubing mascara! I think a few brands make them, mirinesse, fairy drops, I think Mac does too, can't recall which one.

  2. I love Chanel Mascara! It is expensive, but thick and doesn't clump.

I have heard Maybelline thick and full (or something) is good, but I am yet to try.

  3. Hmmm, I use modelco fibre lash for special occassions, and for everyday I use Blinc Kiss me (which is one of those tube mascaras). Does a good job!

  4. I have always had this same problem so I started using Estee Lauder Double Wear Smudge Proof Mascara and LOVED it! The only problem is I was always so fond of the price tag so I changed to Cliniqe Lash Power but agree it's too thin. I'm now using Model Co Fibre Lash and I am yet to find anything else that I could love as much as this! The Estee Lauder one is a close second though for me!

    1. Yep, the model co one looks like it's the winner, winner chicken dinner.
Maybe I can use it with the clinique one... it's such a shame the clinque one is so... thin...

  6. A little secret - The worlds best mascara is from Daiso (Japanese store where everything is $2.80). I have had 3 tubes of it and people always comment on my lashes. It meets all your requirements - i promise! Don't know if there is a Daiso in Melb, but certainly is in Sydney!

  8. MAC False Lashes is my 'good' mascara, great for the lengthening and adds a bit of volume. Enough for me anyway.

My 'have one in my desk' mascara is Maybelline Lash Stiletto, similar to the MAC but not quite as good on the lengthening.

  9. I haven't used it in a while, but Mirenesse Secret Weapon Mascara is pretty good.. they usualyl have little test size ones you can buy for peanuts. I am wearing L'Oreal Double Extension Beauty Tubes at the moment (I got it on ebay). For the price it's pretty good. x

I used to sell the Mirenesse one in the pharmacy, I had no idea you could still buy it.
From what I remember it was pretty good, might need to hunt it down!

  11. I love Maxfactor Masterpiece Max (I think it comes off in clupms, cant remember though) and Maybelline Falsies (rubs off in the shower easily). My colleague has also raved to me about a Chanel mascara she uses, one with a curved applicator bush. Her eyelashes always look AH-MAZING. Hope you find what you are looking for. Finding the right mascara can be a royal pain! x

    1. Everyone is a legend who has suggested MAC, I feel mildly embarrassed that I didn't go to MAC to ask them if they had it BUT I didn't remember it was called tubing mascara and I always drive them crazy with my silly descriptions so I was technically saving face haahahahaa
