Onyx Dreams

We finally, finally, finally painted our backboard with blackboard paint over the weekend.
I can't stop looking at it not only because I love how black it is but because I can't wait to use it for writing on.
We now need to fix those uneven doors and buy a few more things for the cocktail bar set up that we decided would be a good idea last night.

I'm on the search for the prefect silver tray to put 2 scotch glasses on, if you see one let me know!!!
Oh! And swizzle sticks, must have swizzle sticks!!!

What projects did you get up to on the weekend?

  2. Oh that is awesome, I really want a blackboard wall but my kitchen is too tiny. Sad face.

    Nice collection of booze there.

    1. Could you do it on a cupboard door? Or a few cupboard doors?
I've seen it done like that and it looks fantastic.

    2. Hmm I'm not sure about that and can't picture it.
Husband wants nice two pack doors installed so I don't think he would be down with that. I will just admire from afar.

  3. I recently did a whole blackboard wall in the study. Looks amazing! One trick I read about (apartment therapy maybe?) was covering the whole wall in chalk (colouring it in with the piece of chalk lengthwise) and then rubbing it off prior to using it to write on. It's meant to mean that when you write on it you can rub the words off properly. Maybe look into it before you start writing?

I spent my weekend in the garden cleaning gutters and moving pavers and exciting things like that.

    I'm loving your home posts!

  5. I am SO keen to have a blackboard feature in our future place. Love the thought of it in the kitchen, also love the idea of it in the study - inspiration board. I got up to eating & cooking this past weekend - what's new. Need to do more DIY though! First stop - the garden. I need basil in my life.

I hope you blackboard something soon, it's such an easy, cheap, fun thing to do!

  7. LOVE it. There are few things I love more than blackboard paint. If you're a stickler for good, neat writing like me, you need to get blackboard pens!
