Over the weekend I...
Painted the pantry door
TO MATCH MY NEW SHELLAC!!!!!
In a colour Hamish didn't like at first, but now he LOOOooOOOoooVES it.
I got the paint man at Bunnings to mix up the colour I chose while Hamish was in another section so he didn't know haahahahahahahahaahahaa
I drank alcohol free beer, while painting the door.
Look, a tradie might not drink alcohol free beer but it's the best I can do at this stage.
It doesn't taste bad at all, pregnant ladies take note - it's in the soft drink/cordial aisle at the supermarket.
I made little fruit and cheese platters like this.
I'm addicted to oranges at the moment, gimmiegimmiegimmiegimmie ORANGES!!!!!!!!
I have one a day, DELICIOUS!!!!
When I eat them I like to do this:
And, of course on the weekend we did this.... snoozing.
What a cutie!!!
But this wasn't before she destroyed herself at the beach looking like this:
Now, we have a TILE SOLUTION!!!!
We're getting them done by a TILE MAN!!!
Praise little baby jeebus and the heavens above!!!!
So I'm going to get them done did in a subway tile fashion a lá this:
Yayayayaayayayaaaaaaa
I hope they look AMAZING when they are done
The red light on our Nespresso milk frother flashes intermittently.... any ideas why?
Give me more DIY ideas!!
What can I paint around the house next?!?!

Awe sandy face plant!! too cute. Oranges are the best. Nature's candy, 100%. Beer noted for future reference, thanks :) Yay for the tile man! Hmmmmm I can only think of DIY relating to cooking and food prep. Making date balls and muffins and freezing them for future one-handed hungry deliciousness!
ReplyDeleteHeidi xo
THAT is a good idea!!!
DeleteAfter the baby shower I will do some baking, I've never, ever been a muffin person though... maybe I can make them for Hamish!
xox
That photo of Mooky at the beach made me laugh out loud, she looks so hysterical and not like her usually glossy coated self!
ReplyDeleteI love that dark charcoal paint colour, good choice. Are you going to mix up the handle too? I'm seeing a tiny little skull encased in acrylic, how rad would that be?
You could paint your kitchen cabinets too. Nothing that a bit of primer can't help you out with! Or you could paint your ceilings a different colour. E spray painted the ends of an old cutlery set she found at a thrift store in a vibrant yellow, they looked awesome.
Subway tiles. Is there anything better? I like them with that darker grout too, makes the pattern stand out so much.
**our tradies don't drink beer, they're bandits for cheese & bacon rolls and a good latte though ;)
xx
Ahhahahahahahaaaa cheese and bacon rolls and a latte, how refined!!!
DeleteI'm definitely going to get darker grouting, I much prefer it to white grouting - for this look. I'd love to get a different handle for the door, need to do some hunting for the perfect one, any tips on where to find one?
The cabinets are like 1960's formica, ugly, ugly, ugly.... but will do for now.... at least they are white!!
I'd love to put a floating floor in the kitchen... oh my god you should see the brown, pebbled, 1960's horror that's on there hahaahahahahaa with asbestos behind it to boot!

Re: your Nespresso flashing lights...maybe your machine needs to be descaled..you know..for limescale?
ReplyDeleteWe only just got it!
DeleteIn June!!!
It only happens sometimes and it's the milk frother not the coffee bit so no limescale should be in it/on it.
Le sigh
xox
My nespresso is the one with themilk thing built in, I'm pretty sure ours flashes when you haven't switched it off when it's in sleep mode or something, it kind if heats the water then stops, ours flashes on and off all day! I'm getting subway tiles for our new splash back too but I think with white grout.
ReplyDeleteOurs is the one with the frother attached to the side so there is the coffee unit then the frother is a canister that you put on a little bump thing on the side... OH MY GOD I AM MAKING NO SENSE!!!
DeleteIt flashes occasionally after a milk frothing cycle.
LOVE subway tiles!! I am not doing white because I think it would show up dirt too quickly in the kitchen, sigh.
xox
hmmm...tbh i have no idea about coffee machines...lol
ReplyDeleteBy BIL had this same issue with lights flashing on his coffee machine (not Nespresso though) he descaled it...not sure if it was with the frother r with the coffee part though??
But just thinking...if water/steam comes out of the frother, wouldn't there be a possibility of limescale build up??
No with the Nespresso the frother is a canister that is held onto the unit separately!
Deletexox
love the paint colour. what's it called?
ReplyDeleteI think it was Xtreme a dulux colour but I will have to check!
DeleteI'll get back to you
xox
I have those same tiles in my kitchen, with the dark grout... love them!
ReplyDeleteMy light does that too on the nespresso machine, I take it off - wait - then do it all again. I have no idea if that is what I should do but it seems to work. Though it does do it all the time so my advice is probably no good.
Weeeeee I love subways! We are doing them in our bathroom and I hope it looks fab!!
ReplyDeleteCall Nespresso re the frother. Ours started doing that after about 2 months and it wasn't heating either. I'm suppsoed to send it back but it's been almsot 2 years WOOPS.
Send back the whole thing or just the frother?
DeleteSO annoying... so can't be bothered....
Subways are gorgeous, I'm so excited to get it done!!!!!
xox
Love that paint colour! That cheese and fruit platter looks delish and now you're making me crave cheese, haha!
ReplyDeleteohmygod that photo of mooki (mooky? :( sorry I can't remember how it's spelled) at the beach is so adorable. What a cutie, getting sand all up her nose!!
xx
She looked so grumpy after she did it, silly girl!!!
DeleteFresh fruit platters are the best! I'm going to slice up some apple now!!!!
xox
aaahhh...i see!! (can't use the reply button for some reason)
ReplyDelete;)
DeleteI have the same Nespresso as you and mine does the same thing! It still works though and we've had it for 3 years now. I've just been too darn lazy to do anything about it and ignored it since it still works, hahahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to ignore it too!!
DeleteHhaahahahahaa
I figure if it really, really breaks then I can worry about it but it still works so no point worrying!
ahahahahaa
xox
Loving the DIY. What about stencilling a wall? Painting a canvas with that same paint and then writing a recipe in white paint to hang near the kitchen. So many DIY ideas on my mind ... what room needs attention?
ReplyDeleteCan't stencil a wall all the walls here are that silly rough finish from the 1950's.
DeleteGAH
I have decided to sand back the bed head and paint that next haahahaha
xox
Love the colour choice, for the nails and the door. Too cute eating the orange :P
ReplyDeletex
ORANGES ARE DELICIOUS!!!!
Deletexox
Subway tiles... Love!
ReplyDeleteI'm so into oranges ATM as well. I made orange and ginger chicken for lunch nom nom.
I am a painting fiend as well. A white cane coffee table. Fluro green outdoor seats. My poor husband!
Oh gawwwwd that sounds tasty!!!
DeleteI am deeply regretting not buying a cane rocking chair I saw, would have totally painted it for the nursery... oh well, you win some, you lose some :( :( :(
xox
The nespresso thing means you have a scratch on the milk frother. Ours did that flashing thing for 6 months before the milk frother finally gave up completely. Rang nespresso, mailed the jug in and they sent me a new one within the week
ReplyDeleteSO SHIT!!!
DeleteI am trying to ignore it, today it didn't flash!!!!
If it keeps happening I will do the right thing and call nespresso, so annoying either way!
Thank you or letting me know the process.
xox
hahahha i love to do the same with the orange too =P
ReplyDeleteYour doggie is so cute!
